Phase One of the Food Fort, a food truck and cart commissary, was launched in July of 2011 with two goals in mind:
- Creating jobs by working to assist our clients in growing their businesses, and
- Generating enough revenue to make the Food Fort model a self-sustaining entity.
The second phase of the Food Fort, a commercial kitchen and bakery, launched in July of 2012 after twelve months of planning and construction. The kitchen and bakery follow a business incubator model by supporting new businesses and helping existing food based businesses, caterers and bakers expand their companies.
The Food Fort staff is committed to helping new businesses expand by providing them with commercial cooking and baking equipment as well as networking resources and consulting.
